"White Sail are rooted in the music of the people and the music of the land.  There is a heart driven energy in the way they share their music and songs.  I had the pleasure of touring with them two years in succession.  We made a lot of music together venturing in to the unknown"

Liam Ó Maonlaí ~ Hothouse Flowers

"The combined talents of Jane Stockdale, Chris Bartram and Sarah Dean are truly incredible, this is music that is good for the heart and the soul, a tonic we all need these days - wonderful stuff!"

Alan Hewitt - The Musician's Corner

The Fox's Den Showcase with DJ Bill Horncastle

Sarah Dean Solo - 1pm

It only a 45 minute drive from our house to the lovely seaside town of Filey.  It's a place I have many fond memories of - the first holiday I ever had without my parents was in Filey,  with 5 of my school chums celebrating after we'd done our 'O' levels!   And also hundreds of walks taken on the beach and Filey Brigg with my dog Charlie, happy dog and happy days indeed!

There's loads of great music in store for this weekend and I very much look forward to spending the day here.  Check out the website for all the wonderful things they're doing in the many different venues.   Big thanks go to Bill Horncastle and all the crew at VIXEN101 for putting on the shows here and doing all the hard work organising...it's a great showcase of all the musicians who have played live on The Fox's Den Radio Show.

It's bring your own drink which is nice and there are some super nibbles provided.  Always a nice touch!  A very friendly crowd so we're looking forward to this gig very much.

There's loads of great music in store for this weekend and myself and Chris very much look forward to spending the day here.

Both Chris and myself were really chuffed when the proprietaire David of the local bar in the village in Chatillon asked if we could do a gig for them.  Jane is joining us a few days later so it's just me and Chris for this one.

Should be a lot of fun and a great warm-up for our tour!

David and Steph are really friendly, they work very hard and have created a fantastic little bar here in the heart of the village, a real gem.  They do great food too, it'll be a great chance to meet some old friends in the village and make some new ones....The actual wooden bar is the same one I propped up many years ago, way back, when a chance to leave the 'building site' and the trials of DIY to seek local company and advice was a real haven.

MUSIQUE ET NOURRITURE !!!! 19.30 heures

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF VENUE

We are really delighted that the choir in Châtillon sur Colmont is going to be joining us for a glorious afternoon of song!

Two years ago Soundsphere hosted a week long singing workshop in the village and we finished the week with a joint concert with the choir.  It made quite an impact and apparently people are still talking about it!  So, when I asked Sebastien whether we should do something together again it was a resounding Yes!  Made all the more sweeter in the fact that the choir are going to learn a White Sail song called Carry, written by Jane.

I think it's going to be once again a magical evening of warmth and hospitality...as only the French can do!

Thursday 12th March 2020 - White Sail supporting CAIRO

The Local Authority, Eldon Street (Corporation), Sheffield, S14 JU

7.30pm £12 advance - Buy tickets here

Sarah first met Rob Cottingham and had the pleasure of seeing CAIRO back in November 2016 when she joined Anne-Marie Helder and Jonathan Edwards of Luna Rossa for the Rotherham leg of their supports for Cairo on their launch tour.

The Classic Rock Society Best of The Year Awards 2016 were held in March 2017 - Sarah was honoured to be asked to do the support to Pendragon at this event and meet Rob and the band again.  CAIRO and their hard work and talent were very deservedly recognised and they were nominated for Best Lyricist (Rob Cottingham) Best Album (SAY) and Best Newcomer!!  Three awards, all in their first year!!

Over the intervening years Sarah got to do their support when Cairo did a Christmas show in December 2017 at The Music Rooms in London.

Sarah and Rob have kept in touch and Rob has been a wonderful supporter of her solo work and more recently White Sail when he saw the band for the first time at WebbStock where he wrote to us and said.."

"...I just wanted to personally congratulate all of you on your performance last night at WebbStock.  It was a stunner and the FOH (front of house) sound was impeccable - aided by the natural reverb of the venue.  Thoroughly enjoyed what was a captivating set, with beautiful harmonies and talented playing on a plethora of instruments - the whole audience were enthralled!  Wishing you much continued success, very best wishes to you all..."

We are looking forward to the evening and can't wait to hear CAIRO again!  It's going to be a night to remember!

Saturday 9th May 2020 - Filey Folk Festival

The Belle Vue Hotel, Belle Vue Street, Filey, North Yorkshire, YO14 9HY

The Fox's Den Showcase with DJ Bill Horncastle

White Sail will be performing at 9pm

It only a 45 minute drive from our house to the lovely seaside town of Filey.  It's a place I have many fond memories of - the first holiday I ever had without my parents was in Filey,  with 5 of my school chums celebrating after we'd done our 'O' levels!   And also hundreds of walks taken on the beach and Filey Brigg with my dog Charlie, happy dog and happy days indeed!

There's loads of great music in store for this weekend and myself, Jane and Chris very much look forward to spending the day here.

*** POSTPONED ***

The Black Swan Inn, Peasholme Green, York, YO1 7PR

White Sail have worked with Ray Cooper for quite a few years now.  It's a real treat to see him play and hear the beautiful songs that he writes.  It's quite a masterclass in musicianship and we are delighted to once again share the stage to present an evening of amazing music.

Having been the bass player with the world famous Oysterband, Ray decided to stride out on his own solo path as well as locating himself in Sweden...two very successful albums later and with a new album 'Land of Heroes' released on the 16th April 2021, Ray is certainly keeping very busy with tours around the world.  We are very happy that as part of his UK tour he is once again joining us in York.

We are still finalising the details for this gig, but I will update you here with the venue and ticket details.

CYAN - OMEGA POINT - MS AMY BIRKS - A FORMAL HORSE - WHITE SAIL

*** CANCELLED ***

The Robin, 20 - 28 Mount Pleasant, Bilston, West Midlands, WV14 7LJ

Box Office : 01902 401211

Music from 2pm - 11pm

Tickets £17.50 advance buy here £22 on the door

Quite frankly White Sail are blown away to be amongst a stellar line up of bands playing at The Robin - a whole day of amazing music in one of Britains best loved music venues...I've played here solo, supported my all time heroes Gryphon, played with Luna Rossa, with Heather Findlay, I've played at the Panic Room Convention Weekend...I've loved it each time.  It's a venue that's great to play in and of course it's the people that really make it - located in the West Midlands ideal for so many folk to come and see the bands they love with great sound and lights.

'A BRAVE NEW DAY' is an amazing day of music at The Robin in Bilston...featuring CYAN and OMEGA POINT.  Two new bands on paper, but with a wealth of musical, prog provenance.  Containing members from Magenta, Camel, The Reasoning, Karnataka, Panic Room, Godsticks, Francis Dunnery Band and Multi Story.

This will be both bands' debut gig, playing their debut albums in full, with some special gems thrown in for good measure.

Folk! This is a unique opportunity to see a re-formed (Rob Reed, Peter Jones, Luke Machin & Dan Nelson) CYAN take to the stage as well as new band OMEGA POINT.

OMEGA POINT - the brain-child of bassist Matthew Cohen (Magenta, The Reasoning, Ghost Community) who not only brought the other musicians together but also produced the album. On lead vocals is John Paul Vaughan (Ghost Community) bringing a depth of emotion rarely heard on a debut, whilst the guitars and keyboards of Paul Davies (Karnataka / Panic Room) and Rob Wilsher (Multi Story) compete for the listeners’ attention with their virtuosity. Underpinning the album and its complexities is Vinden Wylde (The Reasoning) on drums. Together they have made a very accomplished and atmospheric progressive album for the discerning rock fan.

White Sail are thrilled to be on the bill!, so grab your tickets, this is going to be fab!!

White Sail are really pleased to say that our wonderful friend and flautist Jacqueline Hynes will be joining us, making this show extra special for us!

Sunday 5th June 2022 - White Sail supporting CAIRO @ Unit Nine

*** POSTPONED ***

Unit Nine, 9 Bridgeturn Avenue, Old Wolverton, Wolverton, Milton Keynes, MK12 5QL

Tel - 01908 317995

7pm - 11pm £15 + £1.50 in advance - Buy tickets here

It will be two years plus since White Sail were due to support CAIRO on the 12th March 2020...we're so glad to be the support after these last two years!!!

Rob says "...After a successful last gig pre-Covid in Milton Keynes in January 2020, we cannot wait to play again in Milton Keynes - especially at Unit Nine which is a cracking venue.  I am especially proud of Cairo's new material which you will hear in our next studio album - and I can't wiat for everyone to hear it live.   The fact that we have the popular White Sail as special guests is just the icing on the cake for what will be a tryly sensational Platinun Jubilee Party weekend occasion..."

White Sail are delighted to be joining Liam once again - after the massive success of the October 2021 tour we know it's going to be a lot of fun!

Liam Ó'Maonlaí is one of the most talented, charismatic and soulful performers of Irish traditional music today.  But his musical prowess goes beyond his own cultural roots as he blends an eclectic mix of fold, blues, gospel, sold, rock and more, with his amazing vocals and an array of instrumental mastery from piano to flute, harmonica to bodhran.

Since first bursting onto the scene in the 1980's with his band Hothouse Flowers, Liam has captured the attention of audiences, critics and musicians alike.  According to Rolling Stone Magazine, Bono noted the ensemble were the "best unsigned band on the planet".

It is no wonder that Liam remains a 'musician's musician' and no surprise he has performed alongside the best of them, as a solo performer as well as frontman of the Hothouse Flowers, Liam continues to wow audiences worldwide reinventing himself with each performance.

On stage at 5pm ~ The Bandstand ~ Filey, North Yorkshire

*** CANCELLED ***

"Cancelled due to illness ~ I hope to be in good voice for my next gig ~ so sorry to miss this" ~ Sarah

There's loads of great music in store for this weekend and it's always such a great festival, and the setting is so lovely, not to mention the Fish n Chips!

Thanks to Rob Rockman for all his hard work in organising the bands to play at the bandstand over the weekend.

It's going to be a White Sail duo version with myself and Jane as Chris is on a walking holiday!  We've called ourselves 'The Mermaidens of White Sail'.  Chris will be no doubt collecting interesting song ideas as he walks The Thames from 'Source to Sea'....now there's a song title already!

Chris has played here with his band Groovetone and it was a cracking place to play!  We're really thrilled to bring White Sail to this venue - a brewery that was formed in 2013...they have fast created a reputation for fine ales indeed!  And the venue is incredible too, situated right up on the cliff next to the famous Whiteby Abbey.  This is an event as part of the White Folk Week and we are delighted to be a part of it.
